About Archbishop Dr.Cyprian Kizito Lwanga

Born on 19th January 1953 in Kyabakadde, Uganda, His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga rose from humble beginnings in Nagalama Parish to become one of the most influential spiritual leaders in Uganda and across Africa. He was a man deeply grounded in theology, education, and compassion, serving both the Church and the people with unwavering devotion. From his early education at Kyabakadde Primary School to his higher studies in Rome and France, he pursued wisdom with humility and purpose.

Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere Commissions Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga Foundation Offices

On Saturday, 28th September 2024, His Grace Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere, Archbishop of Kampala Archidiocese officially commissioned and blessed offices of the Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga Foundation at Kyabakadde. This event marked a significant milestone in the mission to perpetuate the pastoral and humanitarian legacy of the Late Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.

The commissioning event brought together, Kyabakadde Parish and diocesan Leaders, Members of the Kizito Lwanga Family, development partners and well-wishers. Archbishop Ssemogerere presided over the blessing of the offices, led the Ribbon-cutting and exhorted the foundation’s leadership to administer its programs with integrity, transparency and deep sense of pastoral responsibility.

The commissioned offices at Kyabakadde serve as the administrative and programmatic hub of the foundation. It hosts the secretariate and coordination units.  On Behalf of the Kizito Lwanga Family, Mrs. Rose Lukwago who is also the Executive Director of the foundation expressed profound gratitude to the Archdiocese of Kampala and other partners for continuous support, describing the foundation as a living memorial to the life and pastoral zeal of Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.

The Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga Foundation now invites the wider church community, local institutions and international partners to collaborate in sustaining and expanding its programs, ensuring that the Late Archbishop’s mission continues to bear fruits for present and future generations.
